About our shop

Spun Record Shop was born in the summer of 1986, when record collector Mitchell Wells decided to sell his collection of imported rarities. He had spent over 10 years travelling to various parts of the world, and had purchased hundreds of vinyls along the way. He stumbled upon many gems which were hard to find in North America, and decided to rent out part of a poster shop to put his sales to the test. As the records flew off the shelves, and as the requests and demands increased, he moved into a store of his own, and continued to expand his collection. Mr. Wells had been a member of a record collector's club for the length of his interest in vinyl, and received generous donations from good friends and fellow collectors along the way. The business continued to snowball, and within 2 years, the store had tripled in size and demands skyrocketed. Spun Record Shop was the talk of Montreal.

16 years later, the store is home to thousands of records from all corners of the globe, and all varieties of music. Every record is in mint or near mint condition. Not only are records for sale, we are also willing to trade or buy records which spark our interest and meet our condition criteria. If there is a record you are looking for and we don't have it, we will gladly hunt down a great copy for you. Mr. Wells still operates the shop, and orders records online from worldwide on a daily basis. There are dozens of new arrivals everyday.
